Brunel University London is a campus-based university situated in Uxbridge, West London, and is home to nearly 13,000 students from over 100 countries worldwide.
Founded in 1966, our distinctive mission is to combine teaching and research excellence with the practical and entrepreneurial approach pioneered by its namesake, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Central London can be reached in only 45 minutes by Uxbridge underground station, so it is a straightforward journey into the centre of the capital. There is also a night bus that can bring you from central London to the edge of the campus. The town of Uxbridge itself, which still has buildings dating back to its time as a Georgian market town, is a thriving commercial and business centre. Its major shopping complexes boast a wide range of shops, cafes and a nine-screen multiplex cinema.
As a campus-based university, students on site are never more than 10 minutes away from halls of residence, catering, social and sports facilities, lecture theatres, the Library, the Computer Centre or welfare services. We have invested £300 million in redeveloping the campus in the last few years, with many new and refurbished social, teaching and sporting facilities, and more green spaces outside. Social life on campus revolves around the Students’ Union, whose student-elected staff help provide you with the best possible experience. Brunel’s modern facilities, bars, refectory, shops, café, central atrium and refurbished nightclub provide the perfect setting for a night out, trying new activities or relaxing after lectures.
At Brunel, you’ll learn from academics who are leaders in their field and explore areas that interest you in your subject of choice. You’ll have every opportunity to grow and we’ll support and encourage you to be inspired, develop your ideas and successfully shape your future career.
